PNOY, the Churches and the Philippines

Pres. Noynoy Aquino has been under fire of criticism, as any past presidents. You get the flak from either positive  or  negative  performance. Flak from those oppositions who have their own political agenda.Admittedly some criticisms are meant well.

He is one president who does not turn to his commitment of "matuwid na daan". His record shows the purging of corrupt officials, and going after the fugitives, like Jovito Palparan.

 Healing of the land is with God, through man's cooperation.that is, eradication of  corruption, which has been here for the time immemorial. Purging should begin from the top down the line.

Other areas of concern are eradication of prostitution, brothels, gambling,  strong spirits, tobacco,  prohibited drugs, cyber sex. These are all the root causes of corruption. Shouldn't we start from the root, nip it

Regardless of Christian affiliation, God should be acknowledged and honored in all public/private offices, schools. Before we even start showing allegiance to the Philippine flag, God should come first so that we will be covered by God's mantle of protection. 

One public official open to honoring God is Gov. Joey Salceda.
He is God-guided so his constituents in Albay were  protected from the onslaught of Glenda. They were zero casualty.

Families, as a unit of society,  should be made stronger for a strong family makes a strong nation.

Schools should give emphasis to knowing and loving GOD. What is ones's success in the material world without God is naught. We'll have monsters of godless children growing to adulthood.

There is a big gap between the rich and the poor.
 because some of the ultra rich are overtaken by greed: not paying the right compensation to labor, the right taxes, they are takers not givers. They are into illegal, easy money. Some entertainers propagate lewdness. Games and sitcoms are money makers,  but they erode the moral fiber of the youth, Less time is spent with families, and no time spent  with the Lord Amighty!

You cannot totally separate the government and church. The Christian churches should work hand in hand with the leaders of the government on legislating laws that are congruent with God's commandments/doctrines.especially issues on abortion/contraceptives, divorce, death penalty, Christian education.

PNOY's Fifth SONA

President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino, III's fifth, second to the last State of the Nation Address (SONA) earned several applause at the Batasang Pambansa. It was a well delivered SONA and the message was  supported by statistics. It was said that this year's SONA is PNOY's best. I, for one, applauded. There are detractors as well.

Pnoy was a Senator when he was tapped for presidency, a reluctant candidate. For me, he turned out well, although faced with challenges, like, the DAP controversy. 

Compared to past administration, his promise to his "bosses"
(the people) to go the "matuwid na daan" (straight road) was being fulfilled especially the uncovering of corruption in the government.
He and his cabinet are doing their best to deliver the service to their bosses the transparent way.

Some of the comments of Pnoy's detractors are:

• Not much was mentioned about DAP (Development Acceleration Fund)
• No mention about Freedom of of Information (FOI)
• the people living below poverty level see no improvement in their lives
• why put P30 B to BSP (Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas), it should have been given directly to the poor

The president gave priority to infrastructure,  and giving additional capital to central bank to attract investors, This will redound to more employment opportunities to the Filipinos. Also a chunk of DAP fund was given to Tesda to better prepare the people for jobs.

In the latter part of  Pnoy's SONA, he became emotional at his mention of his parents, the martyred Ninoy  and the late Pres. Cory.

He said that Fipinos are worth dying for (a quote from his father), worth living for and worth dying for.

I like his pre-SONA message:  Ngayon pa ba tayo manghihina ngayong malapit ng makamit ang minimithi natin?

What I love best is that PNOY acknowledge our Almighty GOD.

And he recognizes the people of God like Cardinal  ChitoTagle, JIL's Eddie Villanueva, INC Manalo, and others.

Pres. Noynoy Aquino's State of the Nation Address (SONA) of today, July 25, 2011, made Filipinos proud to be a Filipino, with a strong sense of nationalism,. With the President's powerful speech, delivered in Filipino, he was able to reach the majority of the Filipinos,  We salute you, Mabuhay!

The Philippines is not spared of calamities, the latest of which are the floods, mudslides in the northern part of the Philippines, the eruption of Bulusan, and the earthquake in the southern part.

We are a prayerful nation, but prayer should come from the heart. If one of the ten commandments is broken or any of the capital sins committed, under the acronym PALEGAS, that is, pride, anger, lust, envy, greed, avarice, and sloth; we sin. Pray that we be strengthened against temptations.

The government and the Church have a big role in leading the people to the right path.
